After a trip with my class to the library I decided that many children "don't like reading" simply because they don't know which books to read. I made it my mission to get Years 5 and 6 at my school to have a continually updated "wish list" of books that they want to read. I read, and read, and read children's books, talked about them with my class in a timetabled weekly "Book Club" and, 2 years on, so many are now little bookworms, suggesting books to me and desperate to have the chance to read whenever they can, both in school and at home.
The past 2 years have been a great adventure. I simply could not have done this without my local libraries and the reservations service they offer. Many, many thanks to the anonymous people who keep collecting books off the shelves from all over Worcestershire and delivering them to Stourport library for me! I'm desperate that everyone uses their library so that we don't lose them.
On this site I also give you details of the marvellous Hive library in Worcester where my family spend many a happy hour reading and drinking coffee!
